Pricewaterhouse Coopers, a major international accounting and consulting firm focusing in industry services in the fields of assurance,tax, human resources, transactions, performance improvement and crisis management has released a global entertainment and media outlook about a forecast that the amusement industry in the Asia Pacific region will grow at a faster rate that any other region in the world.

It estimated that Asia is to accumulate an average increase in annual basis amounting to 5.9 % equivalent to about US$ 8.2 billion in revenues by the year 2010. Also they mentioned in a report release that although the major Asian countries involved will be China and India, the Philippines and South Korea will soon be the next target plan for new amusement park investments.

Charlie Bray, CEO and IAAPA president quoted the following words “Asia Pacific is clearly an emerging market for the amusement and attractions industry, and we want to help fuel that growth,”

The IAAPA Asian Expo is an excellent forum for buyers representing parks and attractions to find products and services to enhance their facilities. In anticipation of the growing demand for rides, products and services in the whole of the Asia Pacific and the continued growth of the Asian attractions and Amusement market, The IAAPA Asian Expo 2006 was held last July 12-14 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.

IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) by the way is the world’s largest amusement industry trade association created to serve the family fun centers, amusement parks, water parks, attractions and the like. Their vision as a non-profit association is to help attraction owners run their business smoothly and profitably. They aim at increasing earnings and discovering new sources of revenue to improving operations and employee performance. They also have such programs that envisions to ensure a smooth success to the growing amusement industry business.
