When Amusements Run Out of Customers

This summer, most of the amusement parks and small amusements here in the Philippines are running out of the regular student customers that used to visit the amusement for the much needed short breaks from school. Yes, students are only some of the many avid and regular visitors of most amusements here in the Philippine Amusement Parks that abound in most of the metro malls and famous venues like the SM mall series in the whole of Metro Manila.

Since almost 75 % of the amusement visitors are students, then, they may at least make up the 75 % margin of the total income of the small and big amusement parks that depend on those students who regularly visit the amusement parks for short fun they sometimes need as breaks from hectic school schedules, term papers, assignments and examinations.

Setting aside, since summer is already here, these big amusements that depend on getting the income that they need in order to make it to the qouta margins of their income expectations, they apply some techniques that get the attention of those families with which they get the income support they need to survive when the students are out of the picture. These are the amusement marketing promotions that they put up just to generate the extra attention that their amusement parks need in order to cope up with the missing amusement visitors they get their regular income from.

Marketing techniques include and vary from singing contests, promo incorporation with other companies such as fast foods, video rental stalls, theaters, and within amusement machines promos. These promotions have been effective throughout the other schemes that they sometimes use just to get out from the brink of running out of customers and regular amusement visitors.

As i have mentioned, aside from the outside promos that they use to attract amusement visitors, those who can afford giving big prizes for singing contests do win the attention of regular singing fans that wants to sing out loud about their talents and this is one of the regular amusement visitor-pooling that is as effective as giving food to hungry fishes in the pond.

Another regular promotion of those amusements in malls are the promotions that they give with their amusement machines. Such good examples of this promotion is the one token two credit scheme. Through this one token two credit scheme most amusement parks attract customers to their parks and at the same time they get to have them play the amusement machines that does not get much players with.

Although i have seen this scheme in most amusement parks and amusement machines in many metro mall amusements, this is still by far as effective as any other amusement promotions because the Filipino amusement fanatics are all looking forward to seeing promotions and sale and many discounts. Filipinos just love taking a peek at these schemes and having a try at them.

Philippine Amusement Industry

Lately i have been to malls and never forget to at least visit places i love looking at every time. This is the reason why i enjoy the company of my beautiful daughter and caring wife. The three of us loves going to places next to nature but setting aside, we also love playing at some of the pioneer and growing amusements in Metro Manila malls and there’s nowhere else we could go but to amusement parks or amusements in malls here in Manila if we are not in places close to nature and also to escape the office gadgets that i am used to seeing.

Philippines is not much of an industrialized country but the people here have always lived and loved going to malls even if it’s just merely window shopping or small chit chats without even a need of eating a decent cozy meal inside expensive restaurants or fast foods. A small bunch of food at the food courts where you can find smorgasbord combos of food is enough to be shared amongst the family members. Offers cheap yet enticing varieties that are very common here in the Philippines and to my amusement, i believe they never get out of place as theirs have choices beyond just the ordinary and tiring “fastfood” menus.

Some of the most common amusements that abound by the numbers in most of the Philippine malls are Quantum, Time Zone and Worlds of Fun where kids love staying almost all the time spending money and playing around with parents who look and feel as if they were in their younger years again. I am proud to say i’m one of them now.

Yes it is very expensive to most but to me and my family, it’s just a way of relieving stress out of the weekend schedules in work, school and in front of the computer and adding up to my credit card bills,,,hehehe. If it’s not the amusement ambiance, it’s gotta be the close to nature sight seeing and walks along the bushes and beside the growing mountains and freezing cold showers in falls as we go falls hunting and swimming in their small and big ponds.

In our many visits recently to amusements in malls, we noticed that Philippine amusements are although growing by the numbers here and there, has still one missed part in them, they all earn a part of the piece of the pie on each other’s behalf and not even knowing that aside from earning, they contribute to the growth of the Philippine amusement industry in particular. Contrary to this claim and observation, there are right now 2 medium unknown amusements in the middle of the rural vicinity of Recto, Manila popularly known as University Belt, that has totally closed due to bankruptcy of the owner.

I have seen them have lots of visitors just last year and i am surprised that it is now closed as i come over for my regular work. The other one, is Dynamic Chi Hung who has a potential with respect to machines but does not have the right people managing the place as one friend have played in their place once and felt dismayed at kind of service that they render to customers. The other one is Live Studio that closed out i guess because they failed to give highlights to their previous set up as a live set up of videoke singing stage.

If only they would have seen the market they have as potential if they pursued their style technique. I really felt sorry for the management as some of the employees i already came close to talking about the details of the closing out .

Time Zone in one way or the other is the most advanced amusement park having branches in almost all prestigious and big malls here in the Philippines. Time Zone amusement uses the most advanced technology in terms of modification and providing complete and total amusement and fun to avid and regular visitors in Philippine amusement parks contrary to what others would say they are the ones who give it to amusement patrons.

They even introduced the use of data cards and almost managed to remove all token simulations incorporated in their redemption machines, ticket machines, arcades, driving games, medal games and the like. Worlds of fun which is the slow developing among the three is content at giving total amusement to kids by outnumbering their competition in terms of kiddie rides and other games and amusement machines that target the small kids attention instead of the biggest market which is the student and young adult population of amusement regulars.

Quantum on the other hand i would say just plays it safe by just staying somewhere in the middle of the battle ground. Although there’s nothing much to show about data as to how much the Philippine amusement industry has grown and earned and contributed to the growth of the country’s amusement industry, there is still enough data to show by just a mere look at their places that the owners and operators indeed earn a significant amount of the Philippine peso to give growth to the economy and they do still continue to grow and would still as many estimate this coming year of the pig.
